Quick answers to common questions.
Can I use YOOAdmin without setting up a license?
Yes. The Lite version is fully functional without a license. The license is optional and free — it connects your site to a YOOAdmin account for access to Extended-related information and services.
Can I switch between Lite and Extended?
Yes. Installing and activating Extended automatically deactivates Lite. Switching back to Lite will deactivate Extended. Your settings are preserved between switches.
Will turning off Focus Mode break anything?
No. Turning Focus Mode OFF simply restores the standard WordPress admin. All your settings, content, and YOOAdmin configurations are preserved. Turn it back on at any time.
Can different users have different Focus Mode states?
Yes, when the Focus Mode policy is set to Auto (default). Each user can toggle Focus Mode independently using the Enable Focus Mode page. Their preference is stored in a browser cookie.
Do the banner-to-notifications and other features require a license in Lite?
No. In the Lite version, “Convert admin banners to notifications” does not require a license. In Extended, it does require at minimum a free license.
How do I reset everything to defaults?
- Colors: Settings → Brand Colors → Reset Colors to Defaults (Save).
- Logo: Settings → Branding → remove the logo and save.
- All settings: Enable “Delete Data on Uninstall” in Settings → Behavior, then uninstall the plugin.
The banner conversion is capturing a banner I need to see directly on the page.
Open the notification dropdown (bell icon in the header), find the notification, and click the link to view the original page or dismiss the notification. You can also disable “Convert Admin Banners to Notifications” in Settings → Notifications at any time.
How do I completely remove YOOAdmin from my site?
- Settings → Behavior → enable “Delete Data on Uninstall” → Save.
- Settings → Focus Mode → set to “Off” → Save.
- Plugins page → Deactivate → Delete.
Your WordPress site returns to its original state with no YOOAdmin data remaining.
Does YOOAdmin affect my site’s front-end or performance?
No. YOOAdmin only loads in the WordPress admin area (wp-admin). It has zero impact on your site’s public pages, load time, or SEO. Admin-side performance is optimized using smart asset loading — scripts and styles are only enqueued on YOOAdmin-relevant pages.
Does YOOAdmin work with WooCommerce?
Yes. YOOAdmin includes dedicated WooCommerce compatibility. Heavy WooCommerce SPA pages (such as the orders or products editor) are automatically detected, and Focus Mode behavior adapts accordingly to avoid conflicts.
Does YOOAdmin support WordPress Multisite?
Yes. YOOAdmin can be activated on individual sites within a Multisite network. Network-level activation and cross-site administration will be covered by the upcoming Agency Suite extension.
What is the minimum PHP and WordPress version required?
YOOAdmin requires WordPress 6.0 or higher and PHP 7.4 or higher. Most modern hosting environments meet these requirements. See the System Requirements section for full details.
Why are there two versions — Lite and Extended?
The Lite version is a fully-featured admin enhancer available free on WordPress.org. It covers Focus Mode, branding, notifications, and all core settings — everything most sites need. The Extended version adds advanced features for power users and agencies: a built-in notification intelligence layer, an Extension Library with installable add-ons, centralized Plugin Manager, and a Quick Language Switcher. Both versions are kept in sync and share the same interface — upgrading is seamless.
Can I use YOOAdmin on client sites?
Yes. The Lite version is free for unlimited sites. For agencies delivering white-labeled sites, the White Label extension removes all YOOAdmin branding from the footer and About modal, letting you present the admin as your own branded environment.
My language is not in the built-in list. Can I contribute a translation?
Yes! YOOAdmin is registered on translate.wordpress.org. Submit translations there and they will be included in future releases. For Extended, translations are managed through the main plugin’s text domain.
